Ebony is a beautiful, vibrant, fiery young lady that is currently experiencing homelessness in the Atlanta area. I had the privilege and honor of photographing her one day. She truly shines in front of the camera. Her dream to one day be a performer could be seen in every photo. Ebony’s presence in front of the camera moved me. When looking back at her photographs, I did not see a person struggling with substance abuse, experiencing homeless or violent crime survivor. She is incredibly talented and more than her circumstances.

Growing up a shy country girl in Georgia, sharing my emotions was something I simply didn’t do. I was a beautifully sun‑kissed child who always felt loved, yet somehow still out of place. As I got older and life carried me down many winding roads—some uplifting, some challenging—I realized I needed an outlet.
